Is-slottet and the Flow of Body Spaces
The programme Is-slottet and the Flow of Body Spaces presented in co-operation with Nordic Short & Doc Film Festival zooms into a selection of current art film and video productions. The selected works are rooted in an experienced reality, its politics and affections, but suggest and map out trajectories. In a world of big data and extinction the 鈥渋maginary documentary鈥 is an inside/outside process and like in the Norwegian author Tarjei Vesaas鈥檚 novel Is-slottet (The Ice Palace) suggests the body as a space.
All selected films undertake in their own particular way affective and material-based research and highlight the subjective interaction between producers, viewers, materials and the environment. There is a prevailing interest in how collective and subjective narratives are visually materialised and manifested. Underlying is a deeper interest in how psychology can be manifested through material, imaginary sensualities rather than the verbal. Conversations are held across disciplines and genres creating a polyphonic iteration composed of many different elements that speak and listen to one another.
