Jonathan Monk: Exhibit Model Four
Under the title Exhibit Model Four 鈥 plus invited guests, British artist Jonathan Monk (*1969, Leicester) continues his exhibition series, which began in 2016 as a kind of retrospective, and which he has conceptually expanded for the KINDL 鈥 Centre for Contemporary Art.
Exhibit Model Four is an installation consisting of walls covered in photographic wallpaper throughout the M1 exhibition space. The photographs, mostly in black and white, show his own works from the past twenty years in various exhibition contexts. At KINDL, Monk will combine these works, depicted on photographic sheets, with actual artworks by other artists from his personal collection, installed in the exhibition space. He thus offers a multilayered take on the conditions of exhibiting and presenting art.
