Lost and Found
On the surface, it’s a light-hearted display of whimsical pieces, but on closer inspection it reveals a serious and analytical examination of our ‘throwaway culture’ and its impact on the environment.
The exhibition was inspired by the concept of one man’s trash being another man’s treasure, with the artists selecting discarded objects that appealed to them on a personal level, and granting them new life in the form of art.
With diversified art practices including painting, textiles, sculpture, and mixed media, the selected artists have produced poignant works that invite deeper contemplation by exploring themes both dark and light, including humour, beauty, history, and mythology.
