MMCA Gwacheon Project 2023: Link

Nov 15, 2023 - Oct 20, 2024

MMCA Gwacheon Project 2023: Link offers the audience a visual and auditory experience of the Circular Garden on the second floor and the Rooftop on the third floor, which are vertically connected. In its fourth year, this year鈥檚 MMCA Gwacheon Project aims to revitalize the museum鈥檚 鈥楥ircular Area鈥 (Circular Garden, Rooftop Lounge, and Rooftop). This project explores the 鈥榗onnection鈥 within the Circular Area through collaboration with experts in various fields, including Suyeont and Eom YuJeong, artists who reinterpret the garden鈥檚 vegetation of more than two hundred plants through their visual language; Kim HoKyung and Park Semi, a music critic and a poet, respectively, who present refined language; and Jeong Seung-hyun, a music director who created a one-hour-long playlist for the museum.

Through drawings that depict the botanical elements and architectural features of the museum from various perspectives, MMCA Gwacheon Project 2023: Link seeks to visually convey the allure of the space. When encountering drawings and architectural graphics, the audience can perceive the interconnectedness of the gardens on the second and third floors and understand them as a unified space. The music that continuously plays in the Circular Area at MMCA Gwacheon can also be found on the museum鈥檚 official YouTube channel, which serves as a medium for viewers to have a lasting museum experience. It is expected that a variety of programs will be introduced following MMCA Gwacheon Project 2023: Connection to ensure the continued engagement of MMCA Gwacheon Project with its audience.
