Created in a concentrated burst of animation, Kate Trafeli's latest body of work alludes - with unquestionable relevance - to those precarious in-between moments in which we experience change. Working across a vast scale, Trafeli explores the motions, literally and figuratively, of crossing liminal spaces. These works are the suspended animation between tightropes, conjuring the elation of simultaneously letting go and reaching into the ether for something new.
Trafeli's distinctive use of colour is evidenced in each new work; jewell tones alongside pastel; rich opacity beside delicate translucency. As is her blending of the abstract and allegorical.
