Peter Dailey
Peter Dailey has created ten life-size figurative sculptures that are simultaneously introspective and universal in their themes. Utilising a sophisicated mix of materials and approaches. Dailey鈥檚 figures occupy both internal and external landscapes while contemplating the cultural, economic, policical and environmental mechanisms that they are part of.
At first seemingly passive, Dailey鈥檚 sculptures however harbour the cross-currents of our decisions and their consequences while ultimately asking the pivotal question: what does it mean to be human?
For nearly three decades Peter Dailey has played a significant role in Perth鈥檚 distinctive sculptural scene. An artist, educator, curator and mentor, Dailey has participated in over 80 group exhibitions nationally and internationally including exhibitions in Hungary, Singapore and the Philippines. He was chosen by the philanthropic group The Syndicate, initiated by South West WA collector Lloyd Horn, for this their second project, which gives the artist a chance to work for two years on a commissioned series of figurative sculptures.
