Scapes

Apr 02, 2024 - Aug 07, 2024

The exhibit includes Waterscapes both realistic and abstracted by four female artists.  These include Connecticut artist Betty Ball and two artworks which are part of her Land and Sea Series filled with light, water and reflections;  an encaustic painting by Canadian artist Marie Danielle Leblanc inspired by a trip to Cuba; an abstracted Intercoastal artwork by Connecticut artist, Dale Najarian and two small acrylic paintings on cherry wood filled with water and landscapes  by California artist, Ferdinanda Florence.

The Escape artworks also feature Water but they are  Ocean and Pool side scenes by Hawaii artist, Carol Bennett and San Francisco minimalist, Jeffrey Palladini.  Bennett brings the viewer into the Ocean with a series of pastel on archival board artworks.  Palladini takes us poolside with his oil and charcoal figurative works on paper, as well as wood panel.

We are brought into the City with a shadow painting by Dale Najarian based on a photograph that was projected (in a blacked out room) onto the canvas and then painted,  and a vibrant scene with numerous building structures created by Turkish artist, Yasemin Kackar-Demirel.
