Sculptors On Paper
As part of its summer celebration of sculpture, the Museum is pleased to present a unique exhibition of works on paper by well-known modern and contemporary sculptors. Drawn exclusively from the holdings of BNY Mellon, this collection of drawings, collages and mixed-media works represents a survey of two-dimensional work by some of the most celebrated sculptors, installation artists and video artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The show explores the concept of drawing, itself, while offering a fascinating view into the daily practice of artists known mainly for working in three dimensions.
Starting with the 1950s, the selections include a roster of international artists including David Smith, Henry Moore, Robert Smithson, Rachel Whiteread, William Kentridge, Maya Lin, Pipilotti Rist, Anish Kapoor, Rivane Neuenschwander, John McCracken, and Huma Bhabha to name a few.
