In presenting Le Jardin du sommeil (1998), the Mus茅e wishes to spotlight a recent, major acquisition that is exemplary of
Spring Hurlbut鈥檚 artistic practice. This monumental installation includes more than a hundred children鈥檚 beds鈥攆ound, antique metal cribs and cradles鈥攕imply and solemnly arranged in rows in a way that evokes both the age and the loss of childhood.
