In his artistic practice, Stuart
Middleton (b. 1987 in Crewe) takes a transdisciplinary and site-specific approach. He creates installations that are always probing the architectural circumstances of the given space and that are augmented by sculptures, videos, drawings, and paintings. This gives rise to an overall picture which eschews any kind of stereotypical expectations and thus offers the beholder space for new associations and conclusions. For the exhibition, Middleton is creating a space-encompassing walk-in installation that will run through the lower level exhibition spaces. Here he investigates the expansive history of the psychologization of education and the related didactic presentation forms, which are well thought out both visually and in terms of content. The artist juxtaposes his view of a self-designed 鈥渆ducational complex.鈥
