Surrealism and Magic
An exploration of the surrealists' interest in magic, arcane learning, and indigenous spirituality, the exhibition includes paintings and works on paper by Kurt Seligmann, André Breton, Matta, DalÃ, Marcel Duchamp, Yves Tanquy, Man Ray, Max Ernst, Masson, Dorothea Tanning, Leonora Carrington, Wilfredo Lam, and Magritte.
Inspired by the magic-themed library of Mr. Seligmann (1900-1962), the exhibition includes rare books from the fifteenth to twelfth centuries, correspondence, ephemera, music, and film.
