The Body, The Object, The Other
Craft Contemporary鈥檚 second clay biennial examines contemporary ceramic practices that use the human figure as the starting point for material and conceptual experimentation. The exhibition presents works from both emerging and established artists that actively challenge traditional notions of representation. Works in the exhibition include sculptural objects, site-specific installations, and performative works.
This exhibition is funded in part by the Antonia and Vladimer Kulaev Cultural Heritage Fund; Los Angeles County Department of Arts & Culture; the Department of Cultural Affairs, City of Los Angeles; Lois Boardman in memory of Robert Boardman; and the Bernard Kester Trust in honor of Edith Wyle. This project is also supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts. In-kind support from Laguna Clay Company.
