The Cover of a Book is the Beginning of a Journey is an interactive exhibition of artists' books which prevent or derive from a set of instructions.
Each of these book-works derive from, or present a set of instructions, blurring the boundaries between authors and readers, or artists and viewers, inviting the reader to take an active part in the creation of the artwork. The exhibition includes book works by artists such as Jonathan Monk, Yoko Ono, Ed Ruscha and Lawrence Weiner.
Artists in residence a.a.s. will be responding to the exhibition by constructing a new performance score from the exhibition material and performing them with your help.
