The Magic of Watercolour. Drawings from the Department of Graphic Arts of the XVIII 鈥 early XX centuries

The exposition will include over 250 pieces: famous ceremonial portraits by A.P. Bryullov, and P.F. Sokolov, pages from A.A. Ivanov鈥檚 biblical cycle, series of Surikov鈥檚 Italian and Spanish works from nature, works by M.A. Vrubel and V.E. Borisov-Musatov.

The exhibition will trace the most important stages of mastering this technique and various spheres of its application. The project is intended to identify the common and most characteristic trends in understanding vast possibilities of watercolor and to assess the diversity of individual manners of its use.
