2010 was a watershed year for photographer David Drebin: his commission for Conde Nast Traveler including cover photograph Girl in Hong Kong; the release of Conde Nast's landmark volume Room with a View published by Assouline and featuring Drebin's now sold-out photograph Girl in Orange Dress on the cover; and his inclusion alongside the giants of photography including Penn, Avedon, and Meisel in Fashion!, one of the most comprehensive exhibitions of fashion photography ever mounted (Fotografiska Museet; Stockholm).
Now we celebrate the publication of Drebin's second book entitled The Morning After (teNeues) which features a collection of images that reside, writes Michelle Marie Roy, chief curator of photography at Fotografiska, "on the border between art and fashion photography." "Drebin, from exposure to print, enthralls us with the style and wit of his visual stories. We live vicariously through his characters, and relish in the fantasy evoked by his images."
