The World Is A Book and Those Who Do Not Travel Read Only One Page
Under the title "THE WORLD IS A BOOK AND THOSE WHO DO NOT TRAVEL READ ONLY ONE PAGE." (St. Augustine) Bernheimer Fine Art presents a special group exhibition on travel, nature and landscape photography. On display are works by seven artists who recorded on all continents of the world unique works with their cameras.
For the first time in Lucerne we show photographs of born in 1931 in Kenya Italian artist Mirella Ricciardi. Inspired by the surrounding her early childhood on Lake Naivasha she photographed already in 1950 he and 1960 he years the six tribes of Kenya. A collection of her iconic photographs she published in 1971 in its award-winning picture book Vanishing Africa.
The German artist Jan C. Schlegel is fascinated by tribal cultures in Africa and Asia. The inexorable changes prompted the photographer to portray the people in order to preserve the traditional ways of life in his paintings.
Other works in the exhibition show the unique work of Sebastian Copeland from the eternal ice of north and south poles, the picturesque landscape photographs by Silke Lauffs and Michael Kenna from Europe to India, Southeast Asia and South Africa as well as fascinating nature photography from all over the world of the German photographer Mat Hennek.
Nick Brandt lobs inimitable to photograph the African wildlife and capture in all its glory in his pictures. The iconic portraits of the majestic animals are held inverted with a sensitivity which is only human subject. Not least because of this unique imagery Nick Brandts work by other artists takes off.
Look forward to exciting week in our gallery and discover the exhibition again and again! During the exhibition period, we will exchange pictures regularly so as to reflect the constant change in the world and in our presentation.
