Treasure 2
In 2021, we hosted Treasure 1, an exhibition featuring 36 carefully selected works by 14 artists. The title was conceived by our late director, Hayashi, who passed away in November of that year. He likened each work to a "treasure"鈥攁 precious gem鈥攁spiring to share with audiences the joy of creating, the stimulation of viewing, and the pleasure of collecting.
This exhibition is the second installment of that project, focusing on works by four distinguished artists: Yukio Fujimoto, Kodai Nakahara, Hajime Imamura, and Kohei Nawa. This lineup mirrors our 2014 exhibition "Speaking Sculpture", bringing together four of Japan鈥檚 most prominent artists, each of whom has been actively creating in the Kansai region for decades. The show will feature pieces that have previously only been exhibited in museums, as well as brand-new works created specifically for this occasion.
