From innovators such as Titus Salt, Christopher Pratt and the Bronte sisters to reformists Miriam Lord, Margaret Macmillan and Richard Oastler, visit this display of Bradford's history and talent. Its forward thinking, reactionary strength and challenging inspiration, including a selection of watercolour Bradford street characters and dignitaries of the Victorian period, by John Sowden.
We Art West Yorkshire brings together five new exhibitions from the county鈥檚 local authority museums. Each exhibition celebrates some of the different qualities that make West Yorkshire so unique, as well as showcasing the amazing richness and variety of our museum collections.
Castleford will look at the history and impact of Rugby League 鈥 the sport which was born in West Yorkshire. Halifax will bring together some amazing art inspired by our county. Huddersfield will explore the lives of women from the region up until 1918. Leeds will showcase the stories and experiences of migrants to the city throughout history.
