Welcome Home Vol. II
Welcome Home Vol. II is an exhibition devoted to the Museum鈥檚 permanent collection. Following the success of MACAAL鈥檚 Welcome Home this second phase brings together some of the most iconic works from the museum鈥檚 collection, which have contributed to the success of earlier shows, and a selection of the Museum鈥檚 most recent acquisitions, purchased in 2020 in an effort to support artists, galleries and national as well as international institutions. MACAAL鈥檚 collection is rich with over 2,000 works, representative of all forms of contemporary artistic expression from the continent and its diaspora, with a particular interest in new mediums. By establishing dialogue between different traditions and perspectives, this exhibition illustrates MACAAL鈥檚 ambition to offer the public a new way of seeing contemporary creation from the African continent.
