Clemens von Wedemeyer is curating the exhibition 鈥淧ermanent Reception鈥 in Galerie n盲chst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzw盲lder.
鈥淭he exhibition presents works that deal with issues of subjective and public perception in film and art. Different points of view, which range from abstract gestures to documentary video, combine to constitute a comprehensive form of perception.
Literally, the term 鈥渞eception area鈥 describes an entrance zone, a hub between clients and the firm or shop, or, figuratively speaking, the terrain between capital and oeuvre: the place of first contact. What the viewer is to perceive is mostly just the picture or the movie; yet the surroundings and the general acceptance of the work change a work鈥檚 meaning in the individual perception.
The exhibition starts from the rectangle as the first 鈥渞eception area鈥 which the eye typically encounters in the screen of the cinema. Successively, the second meaning of 鈥渞eception鈥 as data processing in the expanded reality of a gallery is being explored in both film and performance.鈥
