Iconoclastic art dealer Douglas Chrismas, who this past May was convicted of embezzling more than $260,000 from the bankruptcy estate of Ace Gallery, the Los Angeles gallery he founded in 1986, has been sentenced to twenty-four months in prison, beginning February 17.
After facing legal claims by artists represented by the gallery seeking their works back as well as payment for works sold, the founder of Los Angeles鈥檚 Ace Gallery, Douglas Chrismas, has been terminated from the business by a court-appointed financial manager.
