Frieze Seoul opened for its fourth edition Wednesday with 120 galleries from 30 countries.

Small galleries in Korea have multiplied at a breathtaking pace in recent years, buoyed by the arrival of Frieze Seoul in 2022 and the momentum of hallyu (the Korean Wave), turning the city into one of the world’s most buzzed-about destinations for gallery hopping.

The 2025 edition of Frieze Seoul will bring together 116 galleries from more than 30 countries.

The economic slowdown has affected the third edition of Frieze Seoul, which started Wednesday at Coex with relatively slow sales.
