From a 1950s building in T酶yen to a modern museum by Oslo鈥檚 waterfront: MUNCH will open in 2021, tailor-made for great art experiences. The unique legacy of Edvard Munch will finally have the place it deserves.

Four years prior to Edvard Munch鈥檚 death in 1944, he bequeathed all his own works in his possession to the City of Oslo. Munch was already involved in discussions about a future museum while he still lived, but it was not until 1963, one hundred years after his birth, that the museum opened in a very contemporary building.
