With Let Your Rain Fall (Kendi Ya臒murunu Ya臒d谋rmak) the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden is presenting the biggest solo exhibition in Germany to date by the artist Mehtap Baydu (b. 1972, Bing枚l).

The solo exhibition by the Berlin-based international collective Slavs and Tatars takes its title from Simurgh, a majestic, mythological bird-like creature with references to Persianate, Turkic, and other Eurasian histories.

With 鈥淥pera to a Black Venus,鈥� the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden is dedicating the first comprehensive institutional solo exhibition in Germany to the internationally renowned artist.

The staging of her works unfolds the title of the exhibition, Opera to a Black Venus; makes reference to the Black history of resilience and resistance, and is dedicated to the entanglement between ecological collapse and colonial injustice.
