Toshi Onuki is a Carmel Valley- and Tokyo-based installation artist. He received his BFA in New Genre from San Francisco Art Institute. Frequently addressing topical social issues, he creates site-specific installations and large-scale sculptures that examine everyday objects, cultural symbols, and architectural spaces. His work evokes memories both personal and collective, and explores our socially conditioned responses to life鈥檚 often-challenging situations. Onuki reconfigures daily experiences and objects into something new and unexpected.
