Provenance
A stunning pair of 1930s plaster bookends/busts of Greco-Roman women with ornate headdress hand painted in 24K gold leaf. The busts feature integral plinth bases and have been hand-painted in black. These great pieces were inspired by ornamental ormolus used on Empire era furnishings inspired by some of the best sculptures of the Neoclassical movement during the 18th and 19th centuries. Very good vintage
