Phillips and Sotheby鈥檚, two of the world鈥檚 largest art auction houses, have recently announced changes in their top ranks that critics say reflect recent shifts in the art market.
Brooke Lampley and Mari-Claudia Jime虂nez will step up into new roles in the global fine art division, while Gregoire Billault is the new chairman of contemporary art Sotheby's global head of fine art and key dealmaker.
The French-Israeli media mogul and art collector Patrick Drahi has reached an agreement to acquire Sotheby鈥檚 through BidFair USA, a company he wholly owns, in a deal that values the company at about $2.7 billion.
