A.R. Penck
From September, Galerie Knoell will be showing a selection of sculptures, canvases and works on paper by A.R. Penck. A catalogue with a text by Dieter Koepplin will be published on the occasion of the exhibition.
Penck鈥檚 energetic and uncompromising formal language creates complex visual realities in which social relationship structures are depicted pictorially. He devotes himself to the examination of signals and signs, forming his own symbolic vocabulary, which is at times characterised by concrete definiteness and at others by playful ambiguity. In the exhibition, works of diverse materials 鈥� paper, cardboard, wood, bronze and terra-cotta 鈥� and creative phases of Penck are on display.
