ACT 6

Oct 24, 2024 - Nov 22, 2024

At the intersection between perception and representation, the exhibition is presented as a dynamic dialogue between artistic vision and subjective interpretation. Based on the principles of art historian E. H. Gombrich, this collection explores how our perceptions and expectations shape the way we understand art. Gombrich postulated that the perception of art is not a passive experience but an active cognitive activity. In this exhibition, each work stands as a testimony to the 鈥減attern theory,鈥 where artists have created their pieces not only in response to an external reality, but in a constant negotiation between the visual world and cultural expectations. Thus, art becomes a means to explore and challenge our preconceptions.

The concept of 鈥渞epresentation鈥 is central to this exhibition. From detailed realism to bold abstractions, the artists present their visions of the world through a filter of personal and cultural interpretation. Each artist鈥檚 work, with its unique visual language, reflects how we construct meanings and narratives from our prior experiences and knowledge.

Gombrich also underscored the crucial role of context in the appreciation of art. 鈥淩eflections of Reality鈥 invites us to consider how the environment in which a work is presented鈥攚hether a gallery, a public space, or a digital environment鈥攊nfluences our interpretation of it. By interacting with the pieces, the viewer becomes a co-creator of meaning, bringing their own stories and frames of reference. This exhibition is not only a showcase of diverse forms of artistic expression, but an invitation to reflect on the dynamics between the observer and the work.
