Teboho Edkins' cinematic work "I am Sheriff" (2017) demonstrates the use of a film within a film. Through a cinematic portrait, Edkins assists the protagonist, who calls himself "Sheriff," in explaining his non-binary gender identity to the village community and in public schools. In this way, the main character plays an educative role towards their community through their own example. The negotiation and screening of the film are again filmed by Edkins. What becomes visible is the sensitive interaction between a lecturer and an audience whose respective ideas are initially foreign to each other. The invitation to talk is not an one-sided one; both sides are invited to speak. The cinematically reflected process does not show the conviction of an audience as a unit, but the interest for the respective other within a multi-voiced group and the thus enabled expansion of one鈥檚 own complex of ideas.

"Die Kinder im Park 2021" (2022) by Julia Eichler and Fabian Ginsberg follows young people as they nomadically search for opportunities to gather and celebrate due to closed public spaces in the summer of 2021. The kids meet up in Berlin parks, where they are regularly turned away by the police. In interviews, Eichler/Ginsberg try to understand how the young people find a form to hang out with each other under the pressure of the measures in the second year of the pandemic. The film starts from the assumption that the development of each individual necessarily involves communicative exchange (and also conflict) with a heterogeneous group of equals, that is, that the young people's need is not a hedonistic one, but one of seeking form and identity. They become each other's audience, that is, form, which can then be reflected upon individually. In their answers to the interview questions, the children show a differentiated view of themselves and the current situation, of their representation in the media and of their hopes and wishes.

Chella Man's vlogging post "I'm glad I met you at this age" (2018) gives an insight into the emotional world of his relationship with MaryV at the time when they are both 19 years old. The staged situation is interspersed with genuine emotional outbursts, which not only seem youthful in their intensity and directness, but also attempt to formulate this state of searching for authenticity and truth. Chella Man works as a Youtuber, blogger, actor, model, and LGBTQ activist.
