Mitochondria Gallery is honored to present, It Takes a Village: Yesterday and Tomorrow, curated by Raquel Seymone. It Takes a Village: Yesterday and Tomorrow is a group exhibition that explores kinship and community as essential foundations for cultural preservation. Inspired by American poet Paul Laurence Dunbar鈥檚 poem, 鈥淵esterday and To-morrow,鈥 the exhibition considers the weight of memory as a tool that moves us through the present with purpose and care toward the future. Drawing from shared histories and personal narratives, the works hold space for the complexities of community while emphasizing the importance of celebration and reflection to preserve the people and practices that shape us.
