The retrospective exhibition shows the multifaceted oeuvre of the architect and former professor at the Technical University Eindhoven,
Jan Slothouber, who died in Eindhoven last year. He devised a cubist design system for the State Mines, later DSM, between 1950 and 1970, together with William PARS Graatsma. These ‘Cubist Constructions’ were greatly admired and they were awarded the Sikkens Prize in 1966. In 1970 they represented the Netherlands at the Venice Biennale.
Slothouber continued to work on new ‘cubic constructions’ up to the end of his life.
