Lasting Impressions: Prints from the Collection of David R. and Susan S. Goode
This summer, come to the Chrysler to see an extraordinary collection of modern prints on loan from David and Susan Goode of Norfolk. Many of the artists, including David Hockney and Elizabeth Peyton, are not in the Chrysler鈥檚 collection while others, such as William H. Johnson, Robert Gwathmey, and Kara Walker have not had prints exhibited here. 鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be exhibiting the Goodes鈥檚 wonderful collection of modern prints, which shows how critical and innovative printmaking continues to be,鈥 said Lloyd DeWitt, Chief Curator and organizer of the exhibition.
Lou Stovall (b. 1937), From Sea to Shining Sea, 2008, Screenprint, Lent by Susan and David Goode
鈥淭he prints are integral to our total collecting interest. That is why we are so pleased to see the Chrysler moving to make prints, photographs, and works on paper more accessible for everyone and encourage their study as a crucial part of the art canon.鈥 鈥揇avid Goode
This exhibition celebrates the extraordinary gift of David and Susan Goode towards the construction, operation, and programming of the David R. and Susan S. Goode Works on Paper Study Center, commencing this year.
