Laylah Ali鈥檚
Greenheads chronicle the development of her dramatis personae鈥攖hin, round-headed two-dimensional beings of indeterminate sex and race鈥攚ho anticipate, respond to, or enact unseen power struggles. Over forty of these gouache-on-paper works鈥攆rom a series of more than eighty鈥攈ave been gathered from numerous collections to present these compelling paintings for the first time as a comprehensive body of work. The exhibition will allow viewers to examine the evolution of Ali鈥檚 series.
