Lee Ufan: Inhabiting time

Feb 27, 2019 - Sep 30, 2019
The works of the artist, philosopher and poet Lee Ufan appear as so many «encounters» and experiences to live. If his sculptures and environments are dealing with the notion of space, and his paintings with the notion of time, Lee Ufan always seeks to approach the infinite. Each of his works has the power of an aphorism and translates both visually and physically philosophical principles with a disconcerting simplicity. For the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the artist offers a meditative wandering among his works, spanning a 6-decades career, and constantly creating links between the Korean, Japanese and occidental cultures.
