Liu Hsin-Ying: As Softness Swing in the Wind
鈥淎s Softness Swings in the Wind鈥 The title of this exhibition. When the wind blurs the outline; the wind confuses the altitude; the wind clouds the texture. In the blank, curves are conceived, shades come to be, and softness sees light of the day. As I overlap layers of ribbons, knitting yarns, and paints, I create an imbrication of textures. Different kinds of softness run through these textures, swinging because of the wind.
Hsin-Ying LIU (b. 1991), who has been focused on the long-term exploration of the natural rhythms of life and contemplating the essence of human existence, continues to explore the possibilities of interweaving through a combination of mixed media textiles and painting. The themes she portrays may appear abstract but, in reality, they document the natural rhythms of nature, this time using the wind as the main theme to compose beautiful and soft poems, leading viewers to wander between reality and dreams.
