Out of Love for Ukraine

Jun 29, 2022 - Jul 30, 2022

In 2014, we organized the exhibition "Out of Love for Ukraine", which aimed to unite painters living in many corners of this country. The exhibition was presented in several different cities and was very popular, juxtaposing a variety of techniques and themes in the works of individual artists. Due to the political situation, some participants in the exhibition had concerns about the safety of their works, especially in Kharkov and Kherson. Unfortunately, today the situation in this beautiful country has not improved.

One of the organizers of the exhibition, Mykhailo Shmigelskiy, is currently serving in the army and defending Ukraine. Vyacheslav Prodan left for Poland and works in the House of Culture in Aleksandrov Lodzki. Igor Melnik still runs a painting studio at the Art School in Stryi.

As of today the participants of the present exhibition live and work in different countries.

In addition to those masters who exhibited their works in 2014, new interesting names have appeared.

The idea of the exhibition is to demonstrate support for Ukraine fighting against the invaders. Through painting, the artists try to tell about tradition, about their native home, share their vision of the world and, despite everything, look to the future.
