RSW Exhibition
There are a number of artist societies in Scotland where artists, who have been honoured to be elected as a professional member of that society, are entitled to use the society letters after their name.
The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (known as the 聭RSW聮) is an artist-led charitable society whose aim is to promote the art of watercolour painting in Scotland and beyond.
Scottish watercolour painting has long been characterised by a freedom of approach, a bold confidence in handling its materials and a robust way with colour. The practice has continued to evolve with the advent of new pigments such as water-based acrylic paint and inks, in addition to the acceptance of a variety of materials, the use of collage techniques, and of different papers.
