To re-open the gallery after the lockdown period, presenting a show both on our premises and on-line, Jaggedart has invited all our gallery artists to make works on an A4 size inspired by flowers and nature. All works will be unframed and will be under 拢 500.
Artists are said to possess a unique sensibility and awareness. Many times artists have expressed poetically, and with foresight, sensations that only become clear with the passage of time - like Monet painting his water lilies as a response to WWI.
What will artists produce now? What will their response to COVID-19 be? It exploded with such rapidity that everyone was taken by surprise. Has there been time to process it?
This may be quite a challenge. jaggedart is renowned for presenting three- dimensional works. Our artists work with grasses, twigs, ceramics, wood, papercut outs, fabric. Many will feel challenged to work at that size, with their usual materials. These times do demand thinking in innovative ways.
