Served: Plates For Any Day

Oct 05, 2024 - Nov 01, 2024

Every day we use a plate to serve and eat food. A humble form connecting us to antiquity and eating behaviors over 13,000 years old. Ceramic plates connect us to traditions and cultures across every facet of this world. Plates bridge a gap of generations and facilitate rituals that unite and shape our lives.

Plates can be any shape, but almost all have a rim to prevent food from falling off the edge. Modern plates for serving food come in a variety of sizes and types, such as a dinner plate, entrée plate, dessert plate, side plate, salad plate, saucer, platter, charger and/or soup plate. This exhibition showcases several artists' interpretations of a plate.

Grab a plate, select your food, sit down and enjoy…..
