Sounding the Subject: Selections from the Pamela and Richard Kramlich Collection and the New Art Trust

Sounding the Subject considers the use of sound, the human voice, and theatrical performance by five artists in major pieces that are drawn from the collections of Pamela and Richard Kramlich and the New Art Trust. The artists featured in the exhibition are Eija-Liisa Ahtila, Stan Douglas, David Hammons, Nam June Paik, and Pipilotti Rist. This exhibition was organized by curators Daniel Birnbaum, Rector of the St?delschule Art Academy and Director, the Portikus Gallery in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and Mechtild Widrich, Ph.D. candidate in MIT`s History, Theory, and Criticism program.
