The Distance of a Day: New in Contemporary Art
This selection of recently acquired video works, sculptures, and installations by some of today鈥檚 leading international artists explores 鈥 concretely and conceptually 鈥 the themes of connection and disconnection, unity and separation. The exhibition takes its title from David Horvitz鈥檚 video work The Distance of a Day (2013), displayed on two iPhone screens, which presents a sunrise and a sunset captured at exactly the same time by the artist and his mother 鈥 one in Los Angeles and the other in the Maldives. Also on view are works by Zoya Cherkassky, Tala Madani, Roman Ond谩k, Trevor Paglen, R. H. Quaytman, Elias Sime, and others.
