Third Eye: The Costantini Collection In Malba

Aug 26, 2022 - Aug 25, 2024

The exhibition Third eye. The Costantini Collection in Malba comprises over two hundred and forty quintessential works of Latin American art, and for the first time devises a dialogue between the Malba Collection and the one owned by founder Eduardo F. Costantini.

Masterpieces at the exhibition feature artists such as Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Tarsila do Amaral, Xul Solar, Joaqu铆n Torres Garc铆a, Emilio Pettoruti, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Maria Martins, Remedios Varo, Antonio Berni, and Jorge de la Vega, among others, together with many acquisitions by Costantini through the last years. On this occasion, most works will be displayed for the public after several decades of remaining outside the international circuit of exhibitions.

The exhibition鈥檚 title, Tercer ojo [Third Eye], comes from Frida Kahlo鈥檚 Diego and I, (1949), which represents the obsessive love relationship between those two Mexican artists. The name also makes reference to the both intuitive and specific vision at play in an art collection and the hope that the inner eye might guide our ways of inhabiting and transforming the world.
