Thomas Kneubühler
The starting point of Thomas Kneubühler's exhibition The Dividing Line is Bulgaria's southern border. During communism, the border with Turkey and Greece was part of the Iron Curtain and impossible to cross for Bulgarians - or anyone else from the surrounding communist countries. Today, the southern border is fortified again as part of the EU border, for fear of refugees from the Middle East. While in the past it was impossible to get out, now it is impossible to get in.
