Tim Storrier: Horizons

Mar 25, 2010 - Apr 30, 2010
The exhibition, Horizons brings together a selection of photographic artworks created by the artist over the past 39 years which inspire, inform and illuminate the well known and highly sought after paintings. From his late teens, Storrier travelled extensively with his trusty 32mm Pentax Spotmatic - "a great little camera at a time when people still used box brownies" - through China, the United States and the Middle East. At 58, Storrier remains fascinated by photography. "There are a lot of things you can paint that you can't photograph. They are very different processes. A photo is about time, just one instant. Whereas a painting is about thousands, possibly tens of thousands, of decisions taken one after another to achieve what you want."
