Un Cri Que Le Soleil D茅vore
Desire for the other or desire for oneself?
Four artists take us on an exploration of fantasy, whether erotic or expressive of the desire for a utopian elsewhere.
Loved and entangled bodies take shape on the walls as the search for the self confronts the encounter with the other.
The fantasy of an elsewhere and the desire for life that an eighteen-year-old woman can have are reinterpreted by the engravings and drawings of Line Marquis, who pays tribute to her niece and the text she wrote before leaving on her trip to Brazil. The doubts of today's youth, whose na茂vet茅 is soon no more, accompanied by the fear of an unstable future, shake the carefree spirit and force us to set off into the unknown. The desire to (re)find one's place blends with the tensions - ethical, ecological and social - that travel to a faraway land entails today.
Jordan Pallag猫s explores the question of heterotopia as defined by Michel Foucault through the "plastic novel" La Nielsson C, the story of an artistic, philosophical and scientific research company. In the course of a fantasized narrative, the characters disappear under obscure circumstances. Using the postcard format, the protagonist draws his intimacy to his addressees, wandering from town to town with his companion.
Contrary to the majority of erotic works in the history of art, the naked male body takes its place and invites the public to look at it, in its intimacy. A story of desire that turns to obsession under the artist's pencil stroke: "the story is first, it pierces the imagination then haunts the mind like an obsession ".
