Biography

Jeronimus Sweerts was a Dutch Old Masters artist who was born in 1603. The maker's first piece to be offered at auction was "Lilies, a crown imperial, tulips, fritillaries, roses and other flowers in a basket, with a wan-li kraak bowl with fruit, a parrot on a branch, with shells, a lizard and a grasshopper on a wooden table" at Bonhams New Bond Street in 2003. The artist died in 1636.
