The Cairns Art Gallery’s biennial exhibition, ARTNOW FNQ, showcases the best and most exciting contemporary art by artists who live in or have cultural connection to Cairns and the region of Far North Queensland. This year’s guest judge is Max Delany who will be in Cairns to open the exhibition and to announce artists whose works have been selected for acquisition for the Gallery’s Permanent Collection. 

Max Delany is the Artistic Director and CEO of the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) and was formerly Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Victoria (2012–2016) and Director of the Monash University Museum of Art (2004–2012). He is a highly respected contemporary art curator and commentator on new directions in Australian and international art.
