Composed Hypothesis
When it comes to arts and sciences, one cannot exist without the other. Concepts we think of as artistic 鈥 creativity, imagination, inventiveness, and inspiration 鈥 all of these are inherent to the scientific process.
The artists in Composed Hypothesis individually investigate the contrast between art and science: organic vs. geometric, natural vs. mechanical, micro vs. macro. The imagery in this group exhibition blurs differences in scale, creating a profoundly confusing sense of place. This work bridges art and science, raising questions about how we interpret various points of view, the broader universe, and our place in it. While this is not a new archetype, it does create an important dialogue about how we fit into our world, and how we are changing it.
