D&S Fine Art Editions
Print Center New York is pleased to announce the second installation of their Publisher Spotlight series: D&S Fine Art Editions, run by Deb Chaney and St茅phane Guilbaud, fine art printers and publishers specializing in stone lithography, with studios in upstate New York, Paris, and the southwest of France. This pilot series showcases independent print shops publishing their own editions and brings those editions to a broad public audience.
Conceived as a rotating 鈥減op up鈥 series, the Publisher Spotlight aims to bring visitors to Print Center New York in direct contact with new editions throughout the year by printer-publishers that have yet to gain broad exposure in Chelsea or at large art fairs. Presented in the Center鈥檚 inviting, windowed Leslie and Johanna Garfield Lobby, adjacent to the main exhibition space, the series makes art accessible to new and existing collectors and provides a platform for sales to be made directly with the publisher. As a pilot series, Publisher Spotlight will adapt and grow over time in order to respond to the needs of independent publishers and the public.
Formed as a collaboration between Deb Chaney Editions and Ateliers St茅phane Guilbaud, D&S Fine Art Editions specializes in fine art lithographic printmaking using traditional stone and photo processes. In the Leslie and Johanna Garfield Lobby, D&S Editions will show prints by Dread Scott and Jenny Polak, a large-scale print by Ethan Murrow and a grid of nine prints by Dasha Shishkin. Themes from the Center鈥檚 current exhibition A Model Workshop: Margaret Lowengrund and The Contemporaries on view in the Jordan Schnitzer Gallery (through December 23) will be echoed in the presentation of D&S Fine Art Editions whose specialty, like Lowengrund鈥檚, is lithography.
